An unnamed secondary school in Go Vap - The latest breaking news scoop is that local Teaching Assistant, Mr. N.M.T is reportedly “sick and fucking tired” of his colleague TB’s (a Foreign English teacher) classroom routine.
This comes after only 2 weeks back at public school.
According to Mr. N.M.T, the foreign teacher, Mr. TB, pitched up this week with vastly outdated comic material, while also lambasting the foreigner for trying new unpolished material on a big stage such as a grade 9 classroom. “One would think TB would have used the 4 months of lockdown constructively, to think up new material. Sadly that hope would merely be a fool’s errand. Purposely mispronouncing Minh Duc’s name as “Minh duck” was barely funny in 2019, I don’t know how he expects it to be funny toward the end of 2021. Honestly.”
N.M.T was also critical of the teacher’s choice of games, and stated they were even more lame than his jokes, something he didn’t think would even be possible. “Dear lord, at one stage he let the students play hangman “with a twist”. The twist being that it was called ‘Hangwoman’ and not ‘Hangman’ a clear throwback to his short-lived stint with the (now defunct) Binh Thanh anti-feminism movement. Absurd.”
The teaching assistant admitted however that the lowest point of the class came when TB fetched his guitar and sang the super simple goodbye song, as well as a couple of his own self-composed “hits” to a bewildered grade 9 class. "They don't pay me enough to watch this tripe. He didn't even bother to tune his guitar, which ironically worked as it synced with his off-key singing".
At press time, TB oozed in confidence while writing a couple of additional classroom jokes. “I really should start selling tickets for my shows (read: classes), I totally killed out there today. I still got it”.
