Saigon- A local "cashier" could not understand what a foreign man was saying earlier this morning, as he was trying to order a coffee.
Despite what was (by his own account anyway) perfect Vietnamese pronunciation, the "cashier" failed to understand that a coffee is what the foreigner wanted. The man tried saying cà phê sữa tươi (coffee with fresh milk) in various ways and tones, all to no avail as the "cashier" just continued giving him the blank and slightly terrified stare she's been giving him for the past 4 minutes since he attempted the transaction.
According to an eye witness, the man proceeded to mime "I want coffee" (poorly) and burst out laughing in a sarcastic yet hysterical fashion, when she still didn't produce the coffee despite him showing her the Vietnamese translation on google translate.
At press time it was confirmed that the man apologized and sheepishly stepped out of the neighboring woman's apartment which he realized he had inadvertently sleepwalked into.
